Is congestion on the Internet exit point an ongoing issue?
Do you have users who take more than their fair share of valuable bandwidth resources?
Is anti-virus and anti spam protection as tight as it should be within your organisation?
Do you want the ability to be able to allow productive sites and protocols whilst block unhealthy sites?
Do you lack visibility of local LAN traffic in and out of your Satellite connection?
Is the user experience degraded due to lack of local caching?
If the answer is yes to any of the above then you need WAFA's Net Manager.
We are pleased to announce the availability of a hardware device that addresses all the above and more at an affordable price.
Please read below a fuller description of the WAFA Net Manager features. We are confident that be it on a Satellite link or on a terrestrial link there is some feature in the WAFA Net Manager that will increase your organisation's online productivity.
Bandwidth Management
WAFA Net Manager's identity-based bandwidth management prevents bandwidth abuse and resultant pipeline choking through bandwidth scheduling and providing committed, burstable bandwidth, protecting organisations from Internet productivity threats.
WAFA Net Manager allows organisations to take control of non-customer related Internet activity which often affects critical customer-related usage through its identity-based unified threat management. Customer policies are created and linked to network management and usage reality, ensuring success of the policy.
Administrators can create policies for committed and burstable bandwidth and establish priorities based on users, groups and applications with precise bandwidth allocation based on usage and time of the day. This prevents non-critical applications from degrading network performance. Unutilized bandwidth is automatically allocated to user groups. Policies are fine-tuned for continually improved network performance despite changing requirements and usage.
WAFA Net Manager is unique in allowing administrators to schedule and regulate bandwidth on time basis to different users and host groups, lowering the peaks in usage across the day. This limits the need for bandwidth purchase based on excessively high peaks.
WAFA Net Manager's Traffic Discovery feature offers network monitoring with information on bandwidth being consumed by users, groups and applications. On this basis, administrators can determine protocols affecting network performance and take corrective action immediately, ensuring continual smooth functioning of critical applications and uses.
A high degree of customization is at enterprise hands to define its own groups, subgroups and departments for policy setting. Temporary and relatively permanent changes can be made and retracted easily over the easy to use GUI.
WAFA Net Manager reduces operational costs with effective bandwidth control that is operable through a simple, easy-to-use GUI which makes creating, editing policies and audit trails based on the enterprise's specific requirements a simple task
Hardware Firewall
The WAFA Net Manager firewall analyzes packet headers and tracks packet communications over a period of time, allowing only those incoming packets that conform to the application protocol rules and user requests.
WAFA Net Manager examines the packet's payload, including application data and disallows traffic that does not conform to the particular application protocol, offering dynamic packet filtering.
The WAFA Net Manager firewall offers protection from Denial of Service, SYN Flood, UDP, TCP, ICMP flooding attacks and from IP spoofing that generate useless, excessive traffic or reroute traffic, bringing the network to a halt.
Dynamic network address translation enables the firewall to keep the network structure hidden from the outside world, reducing threat incidence and protecting the corporate network from unauthorized external access. In addition, it can offer internal protection, preventing unauthorized access to a particular subnet, work group or LAN within the corporate network.
WAFA Net Manager Firewall offers auditing and inbuilt reporting capabilities with details of policy changes, network traffic and current connections.
WAFA Net Manager is the only UTM firewall that embeds user identity in firewall rule matching criteria, eliminating IP addresses as intermediate components to identify and control the user. This offers instant visibility and proactive controls over security breaches.
With WAFA Net Manager, organisations receive complete security in dynamic IP environments like DHCP and Wi-Fi where the user cannot be identified through IP addresses. In doing so, WAFA Net Manager identifies the user, eliminating anonymity within the network., unlike IP-address based solutions. It offers a clear view of usage and threat patterns for user identity-based dynamic policy setting
User Identity binds the security features to create a single, consolidated WAFA Net Manager security unit, enabling administrators to define policies across all security and productivity features over a single firewall page.
Anti-virus
WAFA Net Manager's powerful gateway anti-virus prevents malicious programs where it matters the most, that is, at the satellite gateway. WAFA Net Manager's firewall VPN appliance scans incoming and outgoing HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP3 and SMTP traffic, blocking malicious programs at the entry. This offers enormous customer flexibility for the organisations and reduces expenses related to network clean-up and network downtime.
WAFA Net Manager's gateway e-mail anti-virus and integrated firewall vpn appliance offers the fastest response to the ever evolving Internet threats. It automatically detects, tags, deletes or quarantines spam mails and offers protection to SMTP, IMAP and POP3 traffic. The gateway e-mail anti-virus can mark copies of the mails to superiors and analyze large messages at high speed with throughput which can reach up to 30 Mbps in addition to blocking mails by file types.
The user identity feature of WAFA Net Manager's gateway security appliance allows administrators to set differential scanning policies that customize scanning based on individual customer requirements. Lenient and strict policies can be enforced based on user profiles. It also offers a Self-Service Quarantine Area to key individuals, allowing them to check their quarantined mails. This prevents loss of key mails addressed to individuals while reducing load on the network administrator in searching for missing mails.
Easy-to-use, comprehensive protection with high security and minimal cost and effort at the gateway are the result of WAFA Net Manager's centralized policy- based management. Product configurations, virus pattern updates, security policy and other functions can be controlled through the centralized management console, enabling a rapid, coordinated defence against emerging threats.
High flexibility is ensured with policy-based rules - administrators can create policies and assign rules for users and groups and flexible filtering actions
Spam Filtering
WAFA Net Manager delivers zero-hour spam protection in addition to image spam defence though Recurrent Pattern Detection (RPD) technology. This unique content-agnostic spam filtering technology detects and blocks image spam which accounts for almost 35 % of worldwide spam mail and 70% of bandwidth taken by spam
WAFA Net Manager's anti-spam appliance delivers maximum spam detection with low false positives through relevant, continuous and real-time spam detection. The solution reduces spyware, phishing and adware attempts, controls spam involving pornography while enhancing enterprise productivity by preventing mail systems from being submerged by spam.
WAFA Net Manager spam filtering takes into account the latest spamming techniques and provides effective spam protection. It scans IMAP, SMTP and POP3 traffic for spam.
WAFA Net Manager anti-spam automatically detects, tags and quarantines spam, making it easier for the IT administrators to manage the network. It also allows the IT administrator to tag the subject line with key phrases such as spam, bulk, etc. This helps the recipient of the mail to identify and deal with spam quickly and effectively
Based on configuration, Anti-Spam offers flexible options to deliver spam to the original address, delete or redirect to a pre- defined address. It allows the creation of lenient and strict policies based on user needs.
Web Content Filtering
WAFA Net Manager delivers a comprehensive site database of over 68 categories, consisting of millions of sites through WebCat, its automated web categorization engine. With daily site updates, offering up-to-date protection, WAFA Net Manager ensures not just enhanced user productivity, but also curtails the threat of network exposure to external threats and legal liability while saving valuable bandwidth
In addition, organisations can define custom categories, preventing employees from accessing non-work related sites that are specific to the enterprise. Customized messages can be created, informing users of the reason for blocking the site.
To counter the threat of information theft and data leakage, WAFA Net Manager's web content filtering presents advanced HTTP Upload Block which guards against upload of confidential files or sensitive information on the Internet.
WAFA Net Manager's user identity-based filtering provides the granular controls required to control access by individual users and groups to applications, sites, information upload, as well as entry of virus, worm, spyware and other attacks on the network.
By allowing organisations to set distinct surfing policies with differing access rights based on individual names rather than IP addresses, WAFA Net Manager enables the creation of surfing policies based on the user's work profile. Policies can be created based on the user's department, group, hierarchy or individual requirements, providing great dynamism and flexibility in policy creation and management. Rapid user-IP mapping with instant user identity recognition reduces time lag and processor load.
