Coverage
W6 at 21.5 degrees East
Located at 21.5° East, W6 is ideal for companies needing to communicate between Europe, North Africa, the Sahara, the Middle East and the Gulf region. Fine-tuned for professional communications, the satellite is perfect for applications such as VSAT networks, broadband Internet and data broadcasting.
With twenty-four simultaneously active transponders, W6 provides a widebeam coverage of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, and a steerable coverage centred over North Africa, the Sahara and the Mediterranean region.
Like the W2 satellite, ten channels can be individually configured for operation via either of the two coverages. The remaining channels are connected to the Widebeam coverage.

SESAT 2 at 53 degrees East
SESAT 2 provides coverage through a highly flexible configuration of
fixed and steerable beams. The satellite was built by NPO-PM of
Krasnoïarsk, with a payload supplied by Alcatel Space.
These two manufacturers have already collaborated in the
manufacture of Eutelsat’s SESAT 1 satellite, launched in 2000
and successfully operated since at the 36 degrees East orbital
position. Areas covered:
Europe
Mediterranean
Middle East
Africa
Central Asia
The high-power capacity leased by Eutelsat for the 12-year
lifetime of the satellite provides three coverages: a European
coverage extending to North Africa and the Middle East, and
two steerable coverages. The latter can be steered to cover
Central Asia and African countries south of the Sahara.
SESAT 2 capacity will enable Eutelsat to enhance its commercial
offering in its core markets for telecommunications,
broadband and broadcasting services, while opening growth
opportunities in geographical areas with significant potential.

W3A at 7 degrees East
W3A is one of Eutelsat's most sophisticated satellites, combining Ku- and Ka-band frequencies and on-board multi-plexing (SKYPLEX). It provides pan-European and pan-African coverage while guaranteeing connectivity between the two continents. Areas covered:
Europe
Sub-Saharan Africa
Strategically placed at 7 degrees East, over the Gulf of Guinea, Eutelsat's W3A satellite covers the whole of sub-Saharan Africa and provides direct connectivity to Europe and the Mediterranean Basin.
In addition to bringing Africa its first SKYPLEX on-board multi-plexing solution, W3A also brings to Africa key applications such as distance-learning, telemedicine, Internet access and much more.
